Hitachi Cable Develops and Releases World’s First Media Converter for 40 Gigabit Ethernet

Hitachi Cable, Ltd. (TOKYO:5812) has announced the development of an XLGMC-1001 media converter. The XLGMC-1001 is the world’s first*1 product to comply*2 with the 40 Gigabit Ethernet*3 specifications currently under standardization by the IEEE802 committee.*4 The product is slated for release in June 2010, when the 40 Gigabit Ethernet standard is expected to be officially released.

IDEAL Announces Acquisition of Western Forge, a Premier Manufacturer of American Made Hand Tools

Alstom’s orders recovered in the third quarter of 2009/10, whilst sales remained sustained

During the first nine months of 2009/10 (from 1 April to 31 December 2009), the level of orders booked by Alstom reached €11.4 billion. Sales, at €14.4 billion, continued to grow, up by 6% as compared to the same period of last year.
