Middle East Specialized Cables (MESC) powering the growth of the Oil and Gas industry in the MENA region

The outstanding financial performance of the first quarter of 2008 which exceeded 718 M Saudi Riyals is a great example of the phenomenal evolution made by the company and is a vital sign of its status among the world’s leaders in the cables industry. The figures demonstrate healthy growth and successful plans implemented by the company and understanding the industry and its needs are the main factors that make the difference, said Hashem Al Huneidi, CEO of MESC.

With a history dating back to 1993, Middle East Specialized Cables (MESC) has progressed a long way in powering the growth of the Oil and Gas industry in the MENA region and knew how to impose its presence on the international markets as one of the most reputed brand names in the Middle Eastern cables industry. Such a growth and success are backed by experience, innovation, loyalty and commitment that have always been the main hallmarks of its business for more than a decade and a half.

Middle East Specialized Cables (MESC) saw the seeds for today’s growth long back, that’s why it took all the steps needed to face such a growth. From having several consecutive expansions to increasing its capacity, and venturing into Low & Medium Voltage power cables by establishing MESC- Fujikura Cable Company, to creating the first “One-Stop-Shop” for all types of cables in the region, he added.

The “One-Stop-Shop” for all types of cables is one of its kind business models in the region. Besides offering high-end quality cables it will be providing multitude of services to its customer in one place; that is offering customers the comfortable and convenient of obtaining their requirements in one stop, which makes it cost-effective and more cooperative.

Striving to continue its development and growth plans, the company has already set the provisions related to the eight expansion of its factory in Riyadh- KSA.

The purpose of this expansion is to increase the production capacity by 20%, meet the growing demand of the export sector and thus enhance the company’s flexibility in terms of delivery. The eighth expansion is considered as the second biggest expansion after the seventh one which started production in the first quarter of this year.

It’s a 40 Million Saudi Riyals investment and its conceptualized primarily to add the latest high technology and manufacturing machines in order to meet the dynamic needs of its customers worldwide. The expansion shall be in full swing within the first quarter of 2009

Powering the vast number of development projects taking place simultaneously across the region is just one of the challenges facing the cable industry worldwide, in addition to the increase in the prices of the raw material which is considered as a troubling factor facing most of the cables manufacturers.

Middle East Specialized Cables (MESC) has recently developed special testing facilities for Flame Retardant &Smoke propagation/light transmission, Fire resistance and Acid Gas emission in addition to the existing full fledged routine and acceptance test facilities in line with international standard specifications. This will enable MESC to further strengthen its quality control measures related to supplier raw material control as well as in house verification of compliance of finished cables to special tests and enhance the existing well established customer confidence over MESC quality cables.

The company’s strong business tactics have generated solid escalation for MESC not only in the markets it functions but worldwide. It’s a company that never dries from growth and expansion plans due to its committed to contribute to the formation of its customers, he concluded.
