nkt cables has been selected by TenneT TSO B.V.( the Transmission System Operator of the Netherlands) to design, manufacture and install a 380 kV cable system in the ’Zuidring’ connection in the western part of the Netherlands. nkt cables offer provides the technical, logistical and managerial aspects of this high-visibility project in the Netherlands’ transmission grid. The commercial value of the project is at least 35 mEURO, but depends on the final decisions of the Dutch government regarding overhead lines versus cables. The potential project value could yield as much as 120 mEURO. The scheduled completion of the project is expected by the end of 2010. Winning the Dutch project, nkt cables concludes that the company~{!/~}s systems approach’ in Extra High Voltage is met by a sound resonance in the market for winning projects – now and in the future.
